205 Live recap for December 6, 2019: Marked man of the hour
Here’s the recap of all the high-flying action you may have missed from this week’s episode of 205 Live. Watch the cruiserweights every Friday night at 10 PM.
Last week, “The Most Exciting Hour” on television celebrated its third birthday. At the show’s end, Jack Gallagher was irate and started destroying things. He pushed security when they tried to corral him. He also headbutted the 205 Live GM, Drake Maverick. On Friday, he tweeted that he was done.
Raul Mendoza vs. Angel Garza
Before facing Lio Rush for the NXT Cruiserweight championship next week on NXT, Angel Garza took on Raul Mendoza. On this week’s NXT, Mendoza was supposed to face KUSHIDA, but was jumped by Cameron Grimes before he could make it to the ring.
Maybe still angry from what happened on Wednesday, Mendoza controlled the match from the jump. Garza is so frustrated that he yelled at a fan from the ring. Like he did last week against Jack Gallagher, Garza got on his knees and extended his hand. He asked for Mendoza to shake it and got a boot to the hand instead.
Mendoza runs Garza from the ring for a second time. As he’s running across the ring to dive, Garza ducked down. In response, Mendoza does a hurricanrana. Mendoza got on the apron and Garza swept his leg and opened the apron to make Mendoza fall in it; Mendoza’s back slammed into the ring on the way down. Garza got him back in the ring and in corner where run he nailed a running knee. He followed that with a Superkick. Garza then put his opponent in a crab.

The two traded blows. Mendoza took control of the match once again. Each Superstar attempted to put the other way, but both reversed. Ultimately, Garza finished Mendoza with the Wing Clipper.
Tony Nese vs. Trent Newman
The Singh Brothers made their way to the ring. Already there is indie wrestler, Trent Newman. While trying to decide who would enter the ring, Tony Nese came out and told them he was facing Newman.
Nese tossed Newman to the ground and flexed his muscle. He proceeded to chop Newman, then chopped him in the corner twice. Newman got in a smidge of offense, but Nese hit various strikes. The Singh Brothers were impressed.

Nese tried to put Newman away with a moonsault, but he kicked out. Nese continued to punish his opponent. Newman was finally able to punch Nese in the face and followed it with an uppercut. Newman then moved to the top turnbuckle, but he’s knocked down when Nese punches him. Nese threw him into the corner and nailed the Running Nese for the victory.
The Singh Brothers make their way to the ring to hit Newman with the Bollywood Blast.

Lio Rush vs. Danny Burch
Burch made his singles debut last week and was victorious. Burch locked up with Rush and is able to keep the champ grounded. Burch hit Rush with an uppercut and kept him in submission holds. Every time Rush tried to get out, Burch kept him locked up.

Rush was able to display his speed and kept Burch on his toes, but Burch took control again by punching Rush in the face. Burch continued to punish his opponent. “The Man of the Hour” finally got in a few forearms and a springboard elbow to take down Burch. Rush went through the ropes to take down the Brit.

Rush attempted the Man of the Hour, but is stopped by Burch who pulled him down to headbutt him. He followed it with an Enzuguri and missile dropkick. It wasn’t enough to put the champion away. Burch hit a ripcord clothesline and nearly pinned Rush again. Rush is able to hit a springboard Stunner. As Rush is on the top rope, Garza pushed Rush down and attacked Burch too. He put Rush in the Wing Clipper. He then demands the NXT Cruiserweight title and posed with it outside of the ring.

Can Garza beat Rush on NXT for the title? Will Burch look for payback?
