2. Miami Dolphins

Miami had the league’s worst rushing attack in 2019 (72.3 yards per game), so it feels certain they’ll prioritize the running back position to some degree in free agency and the draft. They are a potential suitor for Melvin Gordon, at the proverbial “right price”, but head coach Brian Flores has warned against expecting Miami to spend money frivolously just because they have the most cap space in the league.

Among the free agent running backs who are reportedly also on Miami’s radar, there’s Jordan Howard, Carlos Hyde and Lamar Miller. Freeman may now be on the radar too, perhaps in concert with signing one of that aforementioned trio or an eventual draft pick like J.K. Dobbins or Jonathan Taylor.

Freeman is a Miami native, so the Dolphins may be a preferred landing spot for him if it comes down to it. And he will surely be cheap enough to not alter any other plans going into year two of the rebuild under Flores.
