5 teams that should make an offer for Odell Beckham Jr.
2. Philadelphia Eagles
After staying out of the free agency mix at the position, and even losing Nelson Agholor to the Raiders, the Eagles seem to be focused on the draft to add a wide receiver. But last year’s injury question marks (DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery) remain, leaving the unproven Greg Ward Jr. and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside behind them.
It was a long time ago, but the Eagles embraced a difficult personality at wide receiver when they acquired Terrell Owens. Current general manager Howie Roseman was the Eagles’ director of football administration during that stretch with Owens, which is surely not a fond memory for him even though he was in a far more background role within the organization.
But Roseman is not afraid to make deals as a general manager, and he seems unlikely to turn totally away from the possibility of trading for Beckham. Money is not an issue, as Beckham would account for just over half of Philadelphia’s current cap space. The question from the Eagles’ end rests on what draft-pick capital they’re willing to offer, along with a player perhaps.
