2nd round

Todd Gurley may have returned to the state of Georgia but he is only a shell of the player who was a top-ten pick just five years ago. And after parting ways with Devonta Freeman last month, the Falcons could land running back help at the top of the second round in the form of Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor.

Taylor is one of my favorite running backs to watch in the entire class and his testing numbers at the Combine proved that he’s much more of the gritty, hard-nosed inside runner that he’s sometimes made out to be.

Taylor’s unique athleticism for his size and savviness as a runner make him the RB1 of this class and he would be an excellent fit in the Falcons’ rushing attack. The volume of carries in college could be cause for alarm but letting him split carries with Gurley should help to alleviate some of those concerns.
