Trevor Lawrence praised by Clemson teammate for his leadership
Trevor Lawrence received praise for his leadership.
College football fans are seeing a new movement take place in the sport. Players are gaining more power and individuals like Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence can help off the field as well as on it.
Lawrence has stepped up in 2020 as a true leader. The 20-year-old was a key face at Clemson’s Black Lives Matter protest earlier this year and he has been vocal about the #WeWantToPlay movement in his sport. This has earned him the respect of people all over the country and one veteran teammate, Travis Etienne, shared his own praise of the quarterback.
Trevor Lawrence earning respect at a young age
Etienne is a senior who decided to return to school instead of entering the 2020 NFL Draft. He is a star in his own right and has rushed for over 1,600 yards in consecutive seasons. His words about Lawrence speak volumes about how the rest of the team views the young man.
Lawrence could easily not care about the Clemson team and solely focus on preparing for his big NFL payday. Instead, he has embraced his role as a leader and looks to be the model citizen when it comes to NFL teams planning to draft a quarterback in 2021.
The quarterback has also been a top prospect since high school and is right up there with Justin Fields as a player NFL teams may be tanking for in 2020. Lawrence has 6,945 passing yards and 66 touchdowns in only two seasons and also has a national championship to his name.
Clemson fans have fallen in love with Lawrence for his dominance on the field. His teammates also see a confident young man who they have chosen as their leader. His stock continues to rise before taking a single snap in 2020.
