Jamal Adams claps back at Gregg Williams’ taunt he’ll miss playing for Jets

The new Seattle Seahawks safety clap back at his former defensive coordinator
When it comes to drama in the NFL, the Jamal Adams saga covered all the bases. Dating all the way back to last season’s trade deadline, the star safety demanded a trade off the New York Jets due to lack of progress in contract extension talks. General manager Joe Douglas finally flipped him after the Seattle Seahawks gave him a premium return that included safety Bradley McDougald and two first-round picks.
After leaving, Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams proclaimed that Adam won’t have fun in Seattle because their playing style is “boring.” Head coach Pete Carroll clapped back at Williams earlier this week, saying that the Seahawks don’t “make as many mistakes” as Williams. But Adams finally gave his response on Saturday, saying that his former coach made these comments because he “misses” him.
Jets and Seahawks hyping up their Week 14 matchup this season
There’s some serious animosity between the two teams on opposite sides of the United States. Adams was universally beloved by Jets fans, but that relationship soured after Adams went public with his contract demands and openly told a Dallas Cowboys fan that he was trying his best to land on the NFC East squad. After all of that drama, most Jets fans had enough, and were pleased with the return they got for him.
As for Adams, he was ecstatic to join the Seahawks, especially when seeing him celebrate on Instagram the night he was traded. Seattle’s struggles in the secondary was the main reason why they were eliminated in the NFC Divisional Round by the Green Bay Packers. Now, they have a certified superstar as Kam Chancellor’s successor at strong safety, and don’t have to worry about paying him this upcoming season.
We never thought there’d be a heated rivalry between the Jets and Seahawks, but here we are. Interestingly enough, both teams meet in Week 14 at CenturyLink Field, where fans will see who will truly get the last laugh.
Whoever wins, best believe they’ll boast about it for a very, very long time.
