4-star linebacker with more than 40 offers commits to Ohio State
The Ohio State Buckeyes and head coach Ryan Day won a massive recruiting battle to land 4-star linebacker Dasan McCullough.
While Ohio State fans may still be disappointed the Big Ten decided to cancel the football season this fall, there’s some incredible news from out on the recruiting trail that’s sure to bring a smile to your face.
Ryan Day and his coaches at Ohio State have been cleaning up with recruiting, and it’s not only the 2021 class they’ve had success with. Nope, the Buckeyes are working fast to make an impact for 2022 recruits, and they just did so with 4-star linebacker Dasan McCullough.
Throughout his recruitment, the 6-foot-5, 220-pounder picked up 43 total scholarship offers, but has shut things down and given an early verbal to Ohio State.
4-star linebacker Dasan McCullough committed to Ohio State over a boatload of other offers from national powerhouses
In addition to Ohio State, McCullough also had other offers from Clemson, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Ole Miss and several other schools. He truly had a massive list of teams to pick from, but the job Ohio State did in recruiting him from start fo finish proved to be too much for him to pass up.
With McCullough now on board, the Buckeyes are up to five commitments for 2020. Per the 247Sports rankings, that class is ranked No. 2 nationally and No. 1 in the Big Ten. McCullough is joined on the verbals list by offensive tackle Tegra Tshabola, linebacker C.J. Hicks, cornerback Jyaire Brown and linebacker Gabe Powers.
While there may not be (for now) a football season for the Buckeyes starting next month, don’t think for a second the coaches aren’t working overtime in building toward the future. McCullough is no doubt a monster get for this program.
