Cody Bellinger walk-off blast beats Rockies to continue Dodgers’ winning ways (Video)

Cody Bellinger gave the Dodgers another win against the Rockies
The Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers are trending in totally different directions right now. While the Dodgers entered last night’s game with the best record in the league, the Rockies had lost five straight games. Colorado’s slide towards the bottom of the division continued thanks to Dodgers star Cody Bellinger.
The LA outfielder blasted a walk-off home run off of Daniel Bard to give the Dodgers a 4-3 win over their division rival. Bellinger has started the season off slow, but this might wake him up.

Cody Bellinger has failed to replicate his amazing 2019 season.
Bellinger has just seven home runs this year to go along with a .209 average. Considering that last year he was named National League MVP after crushing 47 home runs and driving in 115 runs, it goes without saying that he has struggled to really turn it on. Maybe breaking Colorado’s hearts in such an emphatic fashion will be exactly the kind of spark he needs to turn his season around.
The Dodgers, who have ridden Bellinger and new acquisition Mookie Betts to the best record in the league, can start looking forward to the postseason already, while Nolan Arenado and the Rockies have let both the San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks leapfrog them in the standings. While their starting rotation has been unusually effective for a team pitching at Coors Field for half of the season, a lack of depth in the bullpen might once again prevent Bud Black from reaching the postseason.
The Dodgers have a playoff spot all but secured, but it has to feel good seeing Bellinger finally wake up. The Rockies, meanwhile, might start preparing for another October on the couch at home if they keep sliding like this.
