Indy 500 live stream reddit, start time, TV channel and more

The Indy 500 is on Sunday afternoon, although it’ll be an unusual sight without fans
The milk will still be flowing, but an Indy car event without fans at Indianapolis Motor Speedway seems borderline sacrilegious. This event was originally scheduled to take place in May, but was rescheduled to late August due to the pandemic. It’s the only time the Indy 500 has been held without spectators, in many ways taking a page from NASCAR’s book, which has also held races without fans. It’s less than ideal, but the only easy way to ensure the season continued unhindered.
The Indy 500 is — you guessed it — 500 miles over 200 laps. It’s a long, arduous watch for even the most seasoned racing fans. With that in mind, here’s everything you need to know:
How to watch the Indy 500
The Indy 500 is available on NBC via basic cable, but should you not have access to such means, it can also be watch on the NBC Sports app and NBC Sports Gold. Additionally, links can be provided via reddit. The green flag is expected to be waved around 2:30 p.m. ET, signaling the start of the race.
Who are the favorites this year?
Marco Andretti is the biggest name in this Indy Car season, as he won pole position and is looking to end the so-called “Andretti Curse” as he’s the only member of his family (who’s a racing professional, of course) to not win this famous race.
Behind Andretti will be frequent competitors Scott Dixon, Takuma Sato and Simon Pagenaud.
Who is Fernando Alonso?
Alonso is up for the triple crown of racing, a very rare feat that involves winning the Monaco Grand Prix, 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Indy 500. He’s already won the first two legs, making Sunday’s race all the more interesting from the outset.
