Patrick Mahomes received some support from Guy Fieri.
Patrick Mahomes is already a superstar at the age of 24. He brought a Super Bowl back to Kansas City last season and was rewarded with a record contract. His stature in the city allows him to fire off harmless hot takes without too much backlash.
Mahomes’ obsession with ketchup could have been an easy punchline. But this is Mahomes so naturally he received an endorsement from Hunt’s ketchup as soon as he revealed he puts the condiment on just about everything. That includes steak.
Ketchup on steak is a glaring offense to many foodies out there. But leave it to the “Mayor of Flavortown” himself to come to the quarterback’s defense. Guy Fieri spoke about Mahomes’ love of ketchup starting at about the two-minute mark of the following video.
Should Patrick Mahomes put ketchup on his steak? There's no right or wrong answer to this according to the Mayor of Flavortown, @GuyFieri pic.twitter.com/TVi5uQU2cK

Patrick Mahomes is just eating what he likes
Fieri makes some great points in what is just a fun topic. He points out how as long as Mahomes likes his steaks with ketchup, no one else should care. That would only change if he burnt the steak then set it in a bowl of ketchup, or something actually outrageous.
Fieri also points out how there is too much going on to throw serious shade at someone for what they like to eat. That is the whole fun of food. Everyone needs it and there are endless combinations out there to experiment with. It is not like Mahomes is coating his steak in ranch dressing or pickle juice.
Mahomes is a lovable figure and hopefully his support of ketchup on steak will allow others who feel the same to go public. They can count Fieri on their side if anyone gives them grief for just eating what they like.
Perhaps the Chiefs star can take away the stigma of asking for condiments at a steakhouse.
