Which NFL teams should be on upset alert entering Week 3?

After a truly wacky Week 1 things stabilized a bit in the NFL during Week 2. The chalk pretty much held across most games, although there were a few close calls along the way. Let’s take a look at this week’s slate and look at some teams that should be on upset alert entering Week 3. All lines for the week are courtesy of the FanDuel Sportsbook.

3. The Buffalo Bills need to be on their game against the Los Angeles Rams

This space featured the Bills last week when they were favored by 5.5 points against the Miami Dolphins. Buffalo ended up squeaking out a win but Miami covered the spread after rallying to take the lead in the fourth quarter.

No one is saying that the Bills aren’t a good football team, especially as Josh Allen appears to be blossoming as a passer before our eyes. The oddsmakers are clearly all in on Buffalo, who they have established as 2.5 point favorites at home against the 2-0 Rams.

Travel could be rough on the Rams, who had to fly out East to beat the Philadelphia Eagles last week and opted to return home before another East Coast flight, but this team is more than capable of giving Buffalo a run for their money. Los Angeles’ pass rush, led by Aaron Donald, is more than capable of pushing around the Bills’ offensive line to make life difficult for Allen.

The spread indicates that most oddsmakers expect a close game and Buffalo could still prevail thanks to the travel factor. Los Angeles is a very good team, however, and is more than capable of knocking off the Bills in Buffalo this Sunday.
