The Green Bay Packers look to remain undefeated, but will have to do so with a shorthanded offense.
An eventful Week 4 reaches its end on Monday evening. The Green Bay Packers are looking to remain undefeated, as they face a favorable opponent in the Atlanta Falcons. But, it won’t be as easy as it is on paper.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has thrived through the first three weeks of the season, as he’s completed 67-percent of his passes for 887 yards, nine touchdowns and zero interceptions. He faces a Falcons defense that has surrendered the second-most passing yards per game in the NFL (350.3). However, Rodgers will be without two of his top receivers.
Wide receiver Davante Adams is being held out of Green Bay’s Week 4 contest as he continues to battle through a hamstring injury. Adams missed last week’s game against the New Orleans Saints for that very reason. Additionally, Allen Lazard is out for the next four-to-eight weeks, after undergoing core muscle surgery last week.
As for the Falcons, they almost suffered a similar fate with their receiving corps, but dodged a major bullet. Julio Jones (hamstring) and Calvin Ridley (ankle) are slated to take the field against the Packers, after being listed as questionable throughout the week. Quarterback Matt Ryan has to be ecstatic about this news, but he has to contend with a Green Bay pass defense that allowed 247 yards per game to opposing quarterbacks.
