Trevor Bauer can’t stop flirting, tweets about Yankees pitching needs
Trevor Bauer’s tweet about the Yankee’s pitching woes has the baseball world intrigued.
Trevor Bauer just can’t help himself.
The Reds pitcher who will be a free agent when the season ends took note of the Yankees pitching meltdowns in Game 2 and 3 of the ALDS and it sure sounded like flirting.
Interesting indeed, Trevor. Especially for a pitcher on the verge of free agency.
Yankees fans shouldn’t get too excited about Bauer’s flirting though. This isn’t the first time he’s done this.
After the Reds were knocked out of the playoffs, he tweeted a ticket stub for a flight to Boston and tagged the Red Sox.
He also poked at fans of the Braves who were making him feel unwelcome in Atlanta.
After all that he asked a sad Reds fan on Twitter, “who said I’m not going to be around next year??”
Even if Trevor Bauer is just kidding, he really could be used in New York
One thing is true, the Yankees do desperately need some pitching help. They lost Game 3 to the Rays, 8-4, while giving up three home runs. That was on the back of a four-home run outing for Tampa Bay in Game 2 when the Rays won 7-5.
Between the two games, the Yankees gave up 21 hits and 15 runs.
Now, trailing in the series 2-1, New York is on the verge of being dumped from the postseason.
No wonder Yankees fans are in their feelings right now. Adding Bauer would certainly perk them up.
Bauer had an ERA of 1.63 in 2020, the best mark of his career. He also pitched two complete-game shutouts. His one appearance in the postseason for the Reds, a 1-0 loss to the Braves, was by no means his fault. He pitched 7.2 scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts.
