While Kobe Bryant’s passing is almost nine months in the past, that hasn’t stopped the Los Angeles Lakers from finding a variety of ways to pay tribute to one of the greatest players to ever lace it up in the NBA. With LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Lakers one win away from honoring Kobe with a title, Davis decided to make a fashion statement that showed he is constantly thinking about Bryant.
Davis showed up to Game 5 wearing the “5 Rings” Kobe 5 prototype shoe. The details on the outside of the show the number five depicted in a variety of ways, obviously honoring the five championships Bryant won in his 20 years in purple and gold.

Davis and the Lakers have honored Kobe frequently in this series. Not only did LeBron enter Game 4 wearing a shirt that had Kobe’s face on it, but the Lakers are wearing their black, snakeskin-themed uniforms that pay homage to Bryant’s famed “Black Mamba” nickname.
Davis has been nothing short of excellent in this series, showing off his excellent deep shooting and bulldozing power on the inside by shooting 61 percent from the field and 55 percent from behind the 3-point line. If the Lakers win, deciding between him and James for Finals MVP might be difficult.
The Lakers are just one win away from a title, and it’s clear that winning it this year would mean more to the franchise than any other title would. With Kobe looking down and the team clad in Kobe-inspired threads, Davis and the Lakers need to channel his fighting spirit to put away the Heat once and for all.
