The Denver Broncos will be back in action against the New England Patriots

The Denver Broncos’ momentum from a busy offseason has totally fizzled out, as injuries on both sides of the ball have then near the bottom of a very competitive AFC West. They’ve got some playmakers back for Week 6, but they have quite the test ahead of them.

The New England Patriots, who have suffered through a few COVID-19 scares this season, will try to move to 3-2. Doing so will extend their record streak of 225 consecutive games in October or later without a sub-.500 record.

What to watch for in Broncos vs Patriots

After being faced with the prospect of Brett Rypien and Jarrett Stidham earning starts once again, both teams will have their QB1 back in action. Cam Newton was activated from New England’s COVID-19 list along with corner Stephon Gilmore. While he will be without Sony Michel and Shaq Mason, Cam should still be able to make some plays against a Denver defense that hasn’t looked as lethal as it did in years past.

While Rypien made some plays in a win against the New York Jets, Denver will be thrilled to get second-year quarterback Drew Lock back for the first time since the beginning of Week 2. While the Broncos have high expectations for Lock and OC Pat Shurmur will get the most out of his quarterback, he has a difficult task in his first game back against a tough New England defense that will look to harass Lock all game long.
