The NFL is in for a rude awakening in Kansas City, and Le’Veon Bell is ready to help deliver it.

Watch out, the Kansas City Chiefs offense might set records in 2020 if Le’Veon Bell rings true.

If that pun made you roll your eyes, just imagine what we’ll hear out of Kansas City if and when the Chiefs blow up the rest of the league after adding Bell to its roster last week.

Bell is still arguably one of the league’s premier playmakers thanks to his versatility in the passing game. So when released, multiple teams made contact for his services, including the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins.

The Chiefs seemed like a choice we threw out there for how absurd it would make their offense, but no one thought they would actually make the move. After all, the team used their first-round pick to select Clyde Edwards-Helaire out of LSU last April, and the Chiefs are re-writing what it means to have “too many mouths to feed” on offense in terms of their weapons.

However, Bell and the Chiefs ended up at the altar together, and his first press conference after signing with the team should terrify the rest of the league.

“It was just undeniable to try to come here to help this team any way I can help them out. When I decided to come here, I already knew the weapons and there’s only one football to kind of go around,” Bell said. “I think there’s going to be a lot of opportunity to kind of show what I can do in space, running routes.”

Bell believes his skills will thrive in Reid’s system better than anywhere else. Splitting reps with the rookie, expect the former Steelers and Jets star to be an effective third-down runner while likely playing the No.3 receiving role in place of the injured Sammy Watkins.

The Chiefs offense recently relied heavily on run support in their 26-17 victory over the Bills Monday afternoon. Edwards-Helaire led the charge with a season-high 161 yards while Darwin Thompson, Darrell Williams, and Mahomes combined for 79 and a touchdown.

Bell stated that playing with an MVP in Mahomes, and credited the talented arsenal already in place in Kansas City. Should he return to near Steel City form, the Chiefs are set for another deep postseason run.
