The Los Angeles Dodgers are on the board early thanks to yet another first-inning home run by Justin Turner.

After dropping Game 2 of the World Series to the Tampa Bay Rays, the Los Angeles Dodgers appear to be more motivated than they ever were. They want to leave with their first Commissioner’s Trophy since 1988. They handily defeated the Rays in Game 3 on Friday, and they got off to an early start for the fourth contest of the series on Saturday.

In the top of the first inning, Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner hit a solo home run off Tampa Bay starter Ryan Yarbrough to give Los Angeles an early 1-0 lead. In fact, it was the second consecutive game in which Turner went yard in the first inning.

Justin Turner enters Dodgers lore

Besides the second consecutive game with a homer, Turner made some franchise history. That first-inning bomb in Game 4 was the 12th postseason home run he’s hit while wearing a Dodgers uniform, which is the most in the team’s history. The record previously belonged to eight-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion Duke Snider (11).

Turner is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this MLB postseason, and he’s looking to enter the open market with a World Series ring. So far, he’s playing his part in making that dream a reality.
