Dodgers and Rays reveal lineups for pivotal Game 6 of the World Series
By Mike Luciano
The lineups for Game 6 between the Dodgers and Rays are officially out
Following Chris Taylor’s blunder in Game 4 and a pulse-pounding win in Game 5 of the 2020 World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers have a chance to clinch the series if they can take down the Tampa Bay Rays one more time. Tampa Bay, however, isn’t out of pixie dust just yet, and winning the next two isn’t out of the question.
The Dodgers will roll with Tony Gonsolin as the pitcher in this pivotal Game 6, as they will take on Tampa Bay with a largely familiar lineup.
Tony Gonsolin will start Game 6 for the Dodgers
In front of Gonsolin, who started Game 2 of this series, the Dodgers’ lineup remains mostly unchanged. Mookie Betts and Corey Seager will get things started at the top of the lineup, while Max Muncy will cleanup and Cody Bellinger will hit sixth. Will Smith will DH today as Austin Barnes handles catching duties behind the plate. AJ Pollock will return to the lineup and play in left field.
Kevin Cash and the Rays once again fiddled with their lineup ahead of Game 6 starter Blake Snell, the most noteworthy change involving first baseman Ji-Man Choi moving into the leadoff spot in the order.
Playoff sensation Randy Arozarena will play left field and hit second, while Austin Meadows will DH and hit in the No. 3 hole. Manuel Margot, who attempted to steal home in Game 5, is back in the lineup as the No. 5 hitter. Brandon Lowe has been moved to the cleanup spot, while Mike Zunino was bumped down to No. 9 today.
The Rays have all the pieces to send this to a Game 7, especially with Snell on the mound, but the Dodgers will do everything in their power to end this series tonight.
