Blake Treinen defends Justin Turner for celebrating with Dodgers despite COVID-19 diagnosis

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Treinen has come out and defended teammate Justin Turner for celebrating the World Series win after testing positive for the coronavirus. 

Even a week after the Los Angeles Dodgers took down the Tampa Bay Rays to win the World Series, folks continue to bash slugger Justin Turner after he celebrated with his teammates despite testing positive for the coronavirus.

Turner was seen going nuts with the rest of the Dodgers players, even kissing his wife despite his diagnosis. Since then, teammates have come to his defense. Now, you can add pitcher Blake Treinen to the list.

Dodgers pitcher Blake Treinen wants MLB to support Justin Turner

In a radio interview this week, the LA hurler said he feels like Turner’s been given way too much hate for what happened, and that Major League Baseball needs to step up and help him clear his name.

“We all have JT’s back,” Treinen said on the Mad Dog Sports Radio show. “I think the general public hasn’t really been given a lot of the truth involved in that. It’s really unfair what’s happened to him. Without going into details, I feel like the MLB needs to be supporting him more than they’re smearing him the way they did.”

Turner’s coronavirus diagnosis shocked the entire baseball world, but seeing him celebrating with the Dodgers after being removed from the game was arguably even more stunning. Per Treinen, however, there are some facts that haven’t been revealed yet that will make Turner’s decision a bit more reasonable.

For now, we’ll have to wait for more of those details Treinen mentioned to come to light. Until then, people will likely continue to be upset with Turner and the rest of the team.
