Tight End: T.J. Hockenson $6,000

T.J. Hockenson has been very reliable all season. The Detroit Lions offense is not one to go home about, but Hockenson is getting a consistent flow of opportunities from a position that’s falling apart. With George Kittle going down with a broken foot, it’s literally Travis Kelce and everyone else. So, players either have to spend big on a tight end (Kelce costs $8,000, the next tight end costs $6,800), or this is where bargain hunting. Hockenson is a very consistent bargain.

He’s seen his targets going up every week over the past month. Last week, Matthew Stafford looked his way ten times, a season high. He still hasn’t had a breakout game, only hitting 14 points twice, but that is typical of the tight end position this season. With Kenny Golladay already called out for Sunday, this could open up another big day for Hockenson.

The big issue here is the matchup. The Minnesota Vikings allow 11 points per game to the tight end, which actually isn’t that good (the worst team in the league allows 15), but they only allow 1.8 points per game in the red zone to tight ends. With Hockenson hoping to rely on a touchdown (or even two) that redzone defense is going to hurt those dreams. However, he did play really well against another matchup nightmare in the Indianapolis Colts.

Still, Hockenson can get plenty of targets in the middle of the field, and he can get his first 100-yard performance since literally his first week in the NFL. It shows that he’s getting his number called more often with the Lions dealing with injuries. This could be the right matchup to take advantage before he makes a run at the end of the season.

Other Options: Noah Fant $5,800, Evan Engram $5,500
