Eagles’ Brandon Graham takes shot at Amari Cooper’s body language
If you can’t handle Brandon Graham’s heat, get out of his kitchen
Rivalries in the NFL always add another level of excitement to the game. For any team in the NFC East, it’s the reason fans suffer through three hours of agony when the pair meet on the gridiron.
One can’t help but imagine there’s some type of rivalry from players on the field from those respective teams. Either that, or Philadelphia Eagles‘ Brandon Graham really enjoys talking smack to Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper.
During an interview with ESPN’s Tim McManus, Graham said he noticed Cooper’s body posture looked funky in their Week 8 outing. Once seeing the disheveled look, it was game on for the veteran defensive end to get inside the Pro Bowl receiver’s head.
“I knew the rap sheet on him. His body language is bad, so when you see his body language [worsen] I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, I’m about to get him.’ So I started talking to him,” Graham told ESPN this week. “He was gone. He’s like, man, I can’t wait until Dak Prescott gets back. That’s the type of face he had.”
The Eagles would go on to throttle the Cowboys, 29-3 to claim the sole lead of the division.
Graham talks the talk, but backs it up on the field
Graham’s overall production in 2020 will allow him to back up his talk towards anyone. Easily one of the top players on the roster, if not division, the 32-year-old has tallied seven sacks, nine tackles for losses and 25 total stops.
A trash-talker on the field and one off of it, the Eagles are lucky to have someone with Graham’s talents in the locker room. Sitting at 3-4-1, Philadelphia might need to only win two more games to claim the division title for the second straight season. As the offense looks to rebound with healthy players returning to the lineup, at the least the defense has a veteran unit to dismantle quarterbacks week in and out.
Led by Graham, maybe we can get him mic’d up for every game. Who wouldn’t want to hear some of the best burns and comebacks the league has to offer?
