Packers Smith Brothers pile on Bears with scoop-and-score touchdown (Video)
The Green Bay Packers’ merciless unraveling of the Chicago Bears was topped off by a scoop-and-score in the second quarter.
If you tuned in to Sunday Night Football hoping for a competitive bout between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears, you set yourself up for some serious disappointment.
The Packers were favored by a touchdown for a reason, and they showed it in the first half by letting loose against their division foes.
The first half barrage from Green Bay was capped by a scoop-and-score touchdown, forced by Za’Darius Smith and returned by Preston Smith.
The “Smith Brothers” as they’re known are not actually related, but they worked in perfect tandem on Sunday Night to wreak havoc for the Bears.
The entire defense enjoyed the moment in front of the cameras as the Packers took a 27-3 lead with just over three minutes left in the half.
A late score by the Bears with seconds remaining in the second quarter was the only thing to keep the game from being an outright rout.
The Packers haven’t been kind to the Bears on Sunday Night Football
Preston Smith just enjoys playing against Mitchell Trubisky and the Bears. He had 1.5 sacks in his Packers debut against the rival team back in 2019.
His not-brother Za’Darius Smith managed to get to Mitchell Trubisky for the only sack of the night for the Packers, but he also had two QB hits to his name in the first half.
Aaron Rodgers found Davante Adams for his 500th career reception on the opening score. Chicago’s answer of a field goal wasn’t much in the face of a second-quarter flurry of scoring. Rodgers hit Mercedes Lewis and Allen Lazard for two more touchdowns in that period before the scoop-and-score expanded the lead.
