Former Green Bay Packers running back Ryan Grant couldn’t have been happier to hear from Aaron Rodgers on his birthday this week.

Earlier this week, former Green Bay Packers running back Ryan Grant celebrated his 38th birthday. Things were only made better for him when Aaron Rodgers reached out to send him well wishes. Not only that, Rodgers went on to say Grant was one of the smartest guys he’s ever played with.

That’s quite the praise from a future Hall-of-Fame quarterback like Rodgers. As you might expect, Grant was blown away by what the signal-caller had to say and had a priceless reaction to it.

Aaron Rodgers said Ryan Grant is one of the smartest teammates he’s ever played with

Grant spent the first five years of his career with the Packers from 2007-2011, solidifying himself as a standout running back during his time at Lambeau Field with Rodgers. He recorded back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2008 and 2009. In ’09, Grant posted a career-high 1,253 yards and 11 touchdowns.

“One of the most interesting and smart teammates I ever played with, and one of the toughest guys,” Rodgers said of Grant this week. “He was a great player for us.”

He and Rodgers made up quite the duo. The two helped the Packers win the Super Bowl back during the 2011 campaign. With Grant closing in on 40, there’s of course no way an NFL team ends up giving him a call as he quipped. However, Packers fans surely won’t forget the countless plays he made for the team when he was in town.

With his explosive speed, Grant really was a threat to hit the end zone whenever he had the ball in his hands. Nowadays, he’s enjoying retired life and can sit back and watch the 9-3 Packers try and compete for another Super Bowl win.
