Legendary Green Bay Packers Brett Favre believes Aaron Rodgers can make the case of being the greatest players of all-time.

This past offseason, the Green Bay Packers were expected to be one of the biggest under-performers in the 2020 season due to their lackluster free agency and head-scratching NFL Draft strategy that provided little help to quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, they got the last laugh over us all.

On Sunday, the Packers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 30-16 to extend their season record to 9-3. During said game, Rodgers recorded his 400th passing touchdown in his 193rd career game, making him the fastest player in NFL history to ever accomplish the feat. That will cause many a fan to put Rodgers in the greatest of all-time conversation.

During his latest SiriusXM NFL Radio show, legendary Packers quarterback Brett Favre upped the ante, saying that if you put Super Bowl titles aside, Rodgers may be the greatest player in NFL history.

Some lofty praise from Favre

Rodgers has always been one of the more consistent quarterbacks in recent memory. Yet, some fans and media pundits believe that his one Super Bowl appearance in his career is a deterrent of him being put in the GOAT discussion. But the numbers don’t lie.

When looking at his 400th touchdown, Rodgers managed to do it in fewer games than Drew Brees (205), Peyton Manning (209), Tom Brady (212) and Favre himself (228). Perhaps the most impressive thing about this feat is that he did so while only recording 88 interceptions in his career.

Prior to the start of the season, it looked as though the Packers were preparing for life after Rodgers, as they traded up in the first-round of this year’s draft to select Jordan Love out of Utah State. Rodgers may or may not have used this selection as motivation, because he’s been playing at an elite level.

Through 12 games, Rodgers has thrown for 3,395 yards, 36 touchdowns and four interceptions on a 68.9 completion percentage. That has catapulted him into the NFL MVP race alongside Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Rodgers has shown he can play at a high-level for at least a few more years, and Favre is telling us all to put some respect on the man’s name. Sure he may not have multiple Lombardi Trophies, but he has the stats that could give him legendary status.
