The Undertaker ends 30-year WWE career

In 1990, the WWE witnessed the birth of what would turn out to be one of the greatest characters in the history of the business. The Undertaker made his debut at the 1990 Survivor Series, and kicked off the most legendary journeys we’ve ever seen. But all good things must come to an end.

At the 2020 Survivor Series, it was a fitting place for The Undertaker to close the door on what has been an incredible ride. It had been rumored for a good portion of the year, after a cinematic experience with AJ Styles back at WrestleMania. He stood in the ring and let the world know it was time for The Undertaker to finally “Rest In Peace,” a phrase that had been associated with him from day one when he walked in the door.

It wrapped up a memorable career that saw some of the biggest matches in history. Longtime fans will remember his Hell In A Cell encounter with Mick Foley, which is still being talked about today. Also in the memory bank are matches such as his battles with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels and Triple H, as well as facing Brock Lesnar on the night his famed undefeated streak came to a dramatic end.

Earlier this year, the WWE Network aired a special documentary on him that covered most of the last few years of his career, but also gave fans an inside look as to how he trained for his final appearances with the company.

After a three-decade run with the company, and one of very few superstars that didn’t jump ship to WCW during the Monday Night Wars of the mid-90s, there was no better place to culminate the story of the phenom than where it all started.
