Day one of Wrestlemania closed with the Undertaker taking on AJ Styles in a boneyard match.

In a matchup that’s been built since the last Saudi Arabia show, the Undertaker turned the clock back versus his opponent AJ Styles. Styles entered the venue in spectacular fashion, sporting his opponent’s theme and riding to the fight in a heart. The Undertaker would enter to a throwback many fans would enjoy entering on his trademark motorcycle.

The Undertaker would get the better of Styles before eventually knocking him out into a plot of dirt to bury him. This would then prompt Styles’ “club” brethren Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows to attack the dead man, flanked mya plethora of masked men. The Undertaker fought off the ambush and towered over the group only to be met again by Styles.

The phenomenal one would then repeatedly beat down the dead man, stalking his prey for an eventual victory. Shouting things like “give up old man,” and “retire already.” Styles seemed to have the victory in his grasp after striking the Undertaker in the back with a shovel. The Undertaker would fall in a plot awaiting Styles to pour dirt on him with a tractor.

In horror movie fashion, the dead man would appear behind Styles before the deed could be completed and stalk the phenomenal one around the site they were fighting. Taking out the entire members of the club. Throwing Luke Gallows off of a platform, and delivering a tombstone piledriver to Karl Anderson on top of a woodshed. Styles may have felt the worst of the attack, receiving a chokeslam off of that same woodshed.

The Undertaker would then taunt his opponent, asking how old he was, and if Styles remembered what his wife’s name was. Styles would attempt to apologize while being stalked by the Undertaker. Taker would then choke the neck of Styles and console him on his efforts before kicking him into oblivion, thus burying him beneath six feet of dirt and winning the match.

The Undertaker would then grab his bandana and ride off after collecting another soul at the biggest event of the year. Fans got to see the big evil gimmick to close day one of Wrestlemania instead of the traditional dead man.

A victory we will all remember.
