Fox Sports commentator Skip Bayless went on a Twitter rant after Lincoln Riley’s Oklahoma Sooners won a sixth consecutive Big 12 championship.

Fox Sports talking head, and self-proclaimed Oklahoma football fan, Skip Bayless, was quick to share his comments after his Sooners narrowly escaped an Iowa State comeback effort to win its sixth consecutive Big 12 Championship on Saturday, 27-21.

The 2020 season has been as bumpy as an 8-2 season can be. Lincoln Riley’s squad has seen its share of turbulent moments this season, including its 1-2 start to the 2020 campaign.

In today’s Big 12 Championship matchup, the Sooners were hungry to avenge its 37-30 regular-season defeat at the hands of Matt Campbell’s Iowa State Cyclones.

Oklahoma football fans were at the edge of their seats once again after seeing a 24-7 lead evaporate. Bayless and other Sooners fans were ready to bash Riley and the program as they were watching Iowa State driving down the field in the final minutes of the game, only needing a touchdown to complete the come-from-behind victory.

Brock Purdy’s third interception of the game with under two minutes left sealed the eight victory of the 2020 season and a New Years Six bowl game for the Sooners.

That didn’t stop Bayless from rambling on about the near loss to the Cyclones.

Bayless’ criticism of the Sooners’ play today isn’t surprising to most people who follow him on Twitter. After Oklahoma’s 53-45 win over Texas two months ago, Bayless was quick to comment on his frustrations with the team.

Given that Riley’s team went on to recover from two early losses by winning seven straight games with a freshman quarterback leading his team, Bayless should be content with his favorite team playing another New Years Six bowl game this season.
