Some incredible news has arrived for the Florida Gators, as it was announced that Keyontae Johnson will be released from the hospital on Tuesday.
The college basketball world as a whole was beyond concerned when Florida Gators standout Keyontae Johnson collapsed on the court earlier this month. He was taken to the hospital and eventually was put into a medically-induced coma.
It was an incredibly scary situation for Johnson and his family. Fortunately, he has continued to progress and is doing much better this week. So much in fact, it was announced that he’ll be released from the hospital on Tuesday. Truly amazing news.

Keyontae Johnson will be released from the hospital on Tuesday just in time for the holidays
Johnson collapsed on the court on Dec. 12 during Florida’s game against Florida State. This unfortunate incident occurred during a timeout. As soon as Johnson fell down, you could tell just how serious the situation was, especially with the concern from both players and coaches.
It’s been a battle for the 6-foot-5 junior, but it’s looking like he’s going to make a full recovery. The news of him being released from this hospital also means he’ll be able to spend Christmas with his family, which really is a feel-good story.
Thus far this season for the Gators, Johnson had been averaging 16 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. He’s been a key part of Florida’s offense, as he’s been a true stud with the ball in his hands. With that being said, there will be zero rush whatsoever to try and get him back on the court.
The focus for Johnson will be to take his time and make sure he continues his positive recovery. Florida fans surely are happy to see how well he’s doing, especially now that he’ll be able to keep working on getting back 100 percent from home.
