Just when you think Mitchell Trubisky is taking a step forward with the Chicago Bears, he ends up taking two backwards.

Over the last few weeks, Mitchell Trubisky has reminded Chicago Bears fans across the country as to why he was selected in the first round. Seemingly out of nowhere, Trubisky has stepped up his play in a big way and has had the Chicago offense looking sharp.

While it was great to see, the signal-caller continues to showcase why he can’t be trusted for the long haul and that the Bears truly need to go out and land themselves a new starter. Take Sunday for example when Trubisky tried throwing into quadruple coverage. You can probably guess what happened.

Oh my, where to even start on this play. Trubisky apparently woke up this morning thinking he was Patrick Mahomes, evading would-be tacklers and avoiding a sack. However, he then tried to record a miracle touchdown and the Jaguars defense made him pay for it.

Trubisky went for the touchdown and wiped away at least a field goal try for his team. In a close game against Jacksonville, missing out on three points could be the difference between a win and a loss. This is something Trubisky has to know by now.

Making this kind of a throw was nothing short of a horrendous decision and he’s rightfully getting blasted by Bears fans all over social media right now. If Trubisky continues to record these bone-headed plays, it won’t be long until the Chicago supporters call for him to go to the bench and stay there.

Looking forward to next season, the Bears have plenty of areas to fix if they want to try and dethrone the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North. No. 1 on the list has to be quarterback.
