Patrick Mahomes reacts to Ryan Fitzpatrick’s no-look pass

From one no-look throw to another, Patrick Mahomes bows out.

Anyone who has ever watched the Kansas City Chiefs, understand that Patrick Mahomes is a wizard when passing. What most people know him for is the no-look passes made from time to time.

Seriously, what beauty from exiting the hand to his target.

However, Mahomes even has to admit that another person has bested him in that department for the 2020 season.

After the Miami Dolphins benched rookie Tua Tagovailoa in favor of journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick, the magic was back in action. Each of his drives ended in points, with one coming a great after catch move from running back Myles Gaskin.

The best throw of the night, and perhaps the entire season came on a no-look pass deep downfield to Mack Hollins. Las Vegas Raiders’ Arden Key pulled on the 38-year-old’s face mask, leading to a heave and a prayer down the sideline.

Poor coverage, perfect catch and it ultimately set up the Jason Sanders game-winning field goal. In the postgame, Mahomes let his thoughts be known on the pass of a lifetime.

The Fitzmagic lived one more

The 10-5 Dolphins needed the win to hold a lead over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC wild card picture. Fitzpatrick passed for more yards on three drives than Tagovailoa had in three quarters. On top of that, it was a feel-good moment for anyone who loves football.

Let’s not belittle that play either. That throw would already be hard to make with the way the pressure was coming. Try making that with a defender pulling you down by your neck.

Could Mahomes do that? Yes, probably, but instead the Fitzmagic dazzled.

The Chiefs are in a prime spot to win the AFC top seed with a victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. It also would guarantee another season where he won’t have double-digit losses towards his all-time record.

All the records will belong to Mahomes one day, except for maybe that pass. You might never see a throw like that in the league again.
