Travis Kelce’s comments about repeating should have Chiefs fans thrilled

The Kansas City Chiefs will have a chance to repeat in 2021,  but Travis Kelce’s comments provide a bit more context.

As the Chiefs prepare for another run into the postseason, they’re sitting in a good spot. At 14-2 with the top seed in the AFC, it’s all about building off the momentum each week on the way down to Tampa Bay.

The AFC will be a competitive journey for all teams looking to represent the conference. Every franchise in the postseason finished with at least 11 wins and one could argue there’s a weakness that could be the difference in a chance to be the best or an early exit.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce understands the pressure that Kansas City will face as they look to repeat. However, his comments in a recent interview with Shanon Sharpe might have the Arrowhead fans feeling more confident than ever.

“You want it fast forward man,” Kelce said. “You want all these games to take care of themselves. You want to handle business in the division. You want to handle business to get the No.1 seed, but you really want to get back to this point right here.

“We’re here now. So now that we got all that over with, I can just go out here and play for another Super Bowl.”

It feels like no one will contain Patrick Mahomes and the red hot offense on the path to another title. The team won 10 of their last 11 games while the 2018 MVP has barely missed a beat all season.

Kelce continues to show why he’s perhaps the best at his position. During Week 16 against Atlanta, the 31-year-old became the first tight end to have two 100-catch seasons. He also became the first player at his position to finish with five 1,000-yard seasons.

Kelce also reset his former record of most receiving yards in a single-season with 1,416 and 11 touchdowns.

look like the only competitor as the postseason begins, but the Chiefs handled Josh Allen earlier this season with a 26-17 victory in Orchard Park. Should the two meet again, it’d be Kansas City’s backyard with fans cheering on the hometown crowd.

Kansas City did their part to be set for a postseason run. Now, Kelce needs to play like himself for another ring in a legendary career.
