Duke vs. Wake Forest live stream: Betting odds, TV channel, prediction
Duke will look to improve to 3-0 in ACC play as they take on Wake Forest.
This week was interesting for the Duke Blue Devils, who had to get through a game without Mike Krzyzewski, who was sidelined due to COVID protocols. The contest was tougher than expected for Duke, which struggled to get past Boston College with Jon Scheyer on the sidelines, but the good news is that Coach K is expected back for today’s contest against Wake Forest.
Despite some early struggles, the Blue Devils remain well-positioned in the ACC, winning their first two conference games against Notre Dame and Boston College. Those aren’t marquee wins by any stretch of the imagination but they are important victories for a Duke team that has only played twice since Dec. 16 due to a decision to forego the remainder of non-conference play and positive COVID tests from two of the Blue Devils’ ACC opponents.
Today’s game offers another opportunity for Duke to pick up a relatively easy ACC win when they host the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. First year coach Steve Forbes has a lot of work to do to transform the long-slumbering Demon Deacons into a consistent contender.
All three of Wake Forest’s wins on the season have come in non-conference play against low major programs. The more telling results for the Demon Deacons have been tough losses, although Wake Forest deserves credit for losing by only nine on the road to Virginia.
This game should be a layup for Duke, which should easily take down the team projected as the worst in the ACC entering the season. If this game ends up being close it would raise eyebrows about the Blue Devils’ viability as legitimate contenders.
