Seahawks loss to Rams good news for Jets’ NFL Draft plan
While the Seattle Seahawks might have grabbed Jamal Adams, the New York Jets are ecstatic with the loss.
In the 2020 NFL offseason, the Seattle Seahawks were hoping to bolster their secondary for the postseason. After failing to win in the first round, John Schneider was willing to depart with the cursed pick.
Trading with the New York Jets, the Seahawks acquired Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams in favor of two first-round picks and several smaller additions. It worked in the regular season and Adams was a star for the 12th Man. Tallying 9.5 sacks and 83 total tackles, the Seahawks seemed ready to win deep in the postseason.
It’s not about how you start, but rather how you finish. After beating Jared Goff, the Jets should be thanking him, Cam Akers and Sean McVay for the future of their organization.
The Jets are now guaranteed to have between pick 22-24 as part of the Jamal Adams’ trade.

If the Saints and Steelers lose tomorrow, they pick 22. If either loses, they pick 23. If both win, they pick 24.
Seattle also owes New York its 2022 first round pick.
With the 30-20 victory by Los Angeles, the Seahawks enter the 2021 offseason without a first-round pick. According to ESPN’s Field Yates, Seattle’s pick, now owned by New York, will be anywhere between No.22 and No.24 come this April.
The Jets gamble might pay off huge
The Jets will be entering an entire rebuild phase following a 2-14 season. After failing to claim the No.1 pick, they now will have to start their draft with the No.2 selection.
At one point, it felt as if the Jets would be picking in the later half of the first round thanks to Russell Wilson. Wilson’s costly interception to Darious Williams was returned 42 yards for a touchdown all but played in favor of Los Angeles.
New York will now decide if they want to move forward with
as their quarterback, or start fresh with a name from
in the draft. No matter what they chose to do, Seattle’s loss will be able to have them in play for top pass-catchers and decent offensive lineman to begin the 20s.
The Seahawks really traded two first round picks and a third round pick, for a great box safety that can’t cover just to get bounced Wild-Card weekend against a team starting a QB that had thumb surgery last week.

The Jets won the battle of Los Angeles back at SoFi Stadium. Both teams won the war against Seattle. Sometimes it does pay to sell big and take the rebuilding path.
