The Cleveland Browns were victims of the worst rule in the NFL in a two-minute drill against the Chiefs.
The Cleveland Browns, no strangers to bad luck, found themselves victims of one of the most moronic rules in all of sports. While wide receiver Rashard Higgins hauled in a beautiful Baker Mayfield pass to get down to the one, safety Daniel Sorensen lowered his helmet to initiate contact, which forced Higgins to fumble.
Not only did Sorensen not get flagged, but Higgins‘ fumble went out of bounds in the end zone, giving Kansas City the ball at the 20-yard line.

No one on Twitter liked the rule that screwed the Browns
This move drew widespread condemnation from the majority of NFL Twitter, as the fact that a fumble out of the end zone ends up in a loss of possession for the fumbling team is the most widely lambasted rule in the league.
If the ball had gone out at the one-inch line, it would have been Cleveland ball at the spot of the fumble.

I know it’s overworked to say I hate that rule but I can’t help it: folks, I hate that rule.

Worst. Rule. In. Sports.

The league needs to think about changing this rule, as it came back to bite Cleveland in the butt.
