Jalen Hurts went the extra mile to help a family of Eagles fans upgrade their living situation while battling childhood cancer.

Jalen Hurts has been a class act from college straight through to his days in the NFL.

The Eagles quarterback proved once more what a good guy he is by helping a Pennsylvania family in need.

Hurts got together with the childhood cancer nonprofit Alex’s Lemonade Stand to better the lives of a family whose 7-year-old son is fighting cancer.

Hurts first reached out to Alex’s Lemonade Stand with an offer to support their work. They got him into contact with the family in need. He visited the family at their home and played catch with the kids before presenting them with a check for $30,000 meant to help them find a new home.

Jalen Hurts is making his mark on the Eagles community

The Eagles drafted Hurts out of Oklahoma in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft and he ended up starting the final four games of the season for the team.

He threw for 1,061 yards and six touchdowns while tossing four interceptions. Unfortunately, the team went 1-3 in his starts, though he played well enough to open the door for a quarterback controversy in Philadelphia. Controversially, then-head coach Doug Pederson subbed in Nate Sudfeld in the fourth quarter of the season finale to get a look at the quarterback instead of keeping Hurts in with a chance to chase a victory.

A decision will have to be made between incumbent starter Carson Wentz, who went 3-8-1 in his starts, and Hurts, who provided a much-needed spark to the offense when he was in the game. This time, however, it won’t be Pederson making that choice. The Eagles fired their head coach and installed Colts OC Nick Sirianni.

One thing is certain, Hurts has the character to succeed in life, whether or not he lands the starting job for the Eagles.
