3. An equally powerful receiving corps

When Brady joined the Buccaneers, he was coming off a New England Patriots roster who had Julian Edelman and no one else. The Buccaneers featured a pair of 1,000-yard receivers and two standout tight end before adding Rob Gronkowski, Leonard Fournette and Antonio Brown.

That’s cool, but the Chiefs also had a pair of 1,000-yard targets last season and one of them was a tight end.

Travis Kelce is the ultimate security blanket across the middle of the field. His route-running is refined and his strength makes him nearly impossible to drop on initial contact. Tyreek Hill is pure speed, but he’s also improved in making defenders miss in zone coverage. Sammy Watkins, when healthy, also takes the pressure off the passing attack downfield.

Mecole Hardman will be the team’s No. 3 option in 2021 and deservingly so. Against the Buffalo Bills, he made up for his fumble with two key plays to start their 38-9 run. Smaller names like Byron Pringle and DeMarcus Robinson also finished with over 10 yards per catch and a touchdown.

Yes, Brady has weapons. So does Mahomes and they’ve been here before. Moving on.
