Jack Sawyer was really turning heads during Ohio State football’s spring game on Saturday.

With four sacks on the afternoon, the Ohio State football team looks to have its next superstar pass rusher in true freshman defensive end Jack Sawyer.

After a four-sack performance at the spring game, Sawyer announced himself to the college football world.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Sawyer was the No. 1 player from Ohio, the No. 3 strong-side defensive end and the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

The 6-foot-5 and 248-pound defensive standout from Pickerington projects as the star pass rusher in Ohio State uniform. If he becomes the next Bosa Brother or Chase Young, Ohio State will own the Big Ten.

This is how the college football media reacted to Sawyer’s impressive spring game showing.

Ohio State football: Jack Sawyer projects at the next Buckeyes superstar

While it remains to be seen if Ryan Day can win a national title at Ohio State, he and his staff continue to recruit phenomenally every year. Sawyer is one of the biggest names and best players in Ohio State’s 2021 class.

He is not alone in showing up big time in his first spring on campus. Running back TreVeyon Henderson and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. have shined as well.

What is fantastic about these three true freshmen showing out this spring is that all three could be early contributors to the 2021 Buckeyes.

Henderson and Sawyer were five-stars coming out of high school, while Harrison is the son of an NFL legend. Surely, there will be other players from this class who will become stars in the Scarlet and Grey, but Sawyer is already front and center.

Look for Sawyer to be a big reason Ohio State wins the Big Ten once again this college season.
