Before he became a Clemson football legend, Trevor Lawrence had a buzz cut and could make NFL throws as a high school freshman.

It turns out the golden locks aren’t the key to Trevor Lawrence’s talent.

Even when he sported a buzz cut going into his freshman season in high school, Lawrence looked like an absolute star.

An old highlight tape is proof of his old hairstyle and immense talent:

The hair may be shorter, but that’s the same Lawrence. He hit receivers in stride and made plays with his legs, whether scrambling for extra time or taking off on a run.

Lawrence calls Tennessee a dream school, which should be a punch in the gut to Vols fans. He also talked about NFL aspirations as though they weren’t a sure thing. They are now.

Trevor Lawrence looked like a pro from the very beginning

Tons of kids look like stars when they play in middle school and high school. It’s a rare talent who actually lives up to the hype the way Lawrence has. He’s actually on track to surpass it.

Lawrence committed to Clemson as a five-star quarterback in the class of 2018. He was the No. 1 prospect in the country after throwing for 3,000 yards in each of his four seasons on varsity at Cartersville HS in Georgia. He threw 161 touchdowns in high school with just 21 total interceptions.

The recruiting analysts got it very right when it comes to Lawrence. He led Clemson to a national title as a true freshman and continued to dominate as one of the best quarterbacks in the country during his three-year career.

Now he’s primed to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
