Trevor Lawrence signs big-money endorsement deal with Gatorade

Trevor Lawrence is raking in the big-money endorsement deals ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Clemson football star Trevor Lawrence has inked his second gigantic endorsement deal.
Lawrence first signed with Adidas last week, but he is now adding Gatorade to the mix. According to Front Office Sports, the deal will net Lawrence $2 million.
He becomes the first quarterback to be endorsed by Gatorade since Cam Newton back in 2012. Lawrence is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2021 NFL Draft. With flowing blonde locks, you better believe a shampoo endorsement is coming as well.
“From our point of view, he’s a terrific fit for our core brand … We see him as being a hero for that flagship product,” said Gatorade’s global head of sports marketing Jeff Kearney.
Lawrence confirmed he is now an official endorser of Gatorade on his Instagram account Friday.

This is a no-brainer move for Gatorade to make. Lawrence played at one of the best college programs in the country. He is the best quarterback prospect to enter the draft since Andrew Luck in 2012. Given that he will play in the same state where Gatorade was created, this just feels like a perfect fit.
What these high-profile endorsements mean in the grand scheme of things is that market size does not matter in the NFL. Lawrence is going to one of the four smallest media markets in the league, but that really does not matter because he is so incredibly marketable. On-field success and having a dynamic personality is what pushes merchandise in this league. More power to him.
Lawrence keeps racking up the endorsements as the most marketable quarterback in a decade.
