Mavericks’ 28-0 run in rout of Warriors was literally historic

The Dallas Mavericks dominated the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, using a 28-0 run to really make things worse for Steve Kerr‘s men. 

On Tuesday night, the Dallas Mavericks really took it to the Golden State Warriors, earning a surprisingly big 133-103 victory. A 30-point win for the Mavs over the Warriors? You better believe it. Dallas dominated the action, which was frustrating for Steve Kerr to see.

You know what else the head coach didn’t like? In the middle of the action, the Mavs went on a 28-0 run. As you might have been able to guess, that was a historic showing by Dallas.

Mavericks made history against the Warriors with their 28-0 run

The Mavericks outscored the Warriors 36-12 in the first quarter, really setting the tone for the rest of the game. It’s not often Kerr’s guys lose by 30 points, but Dallas was simply on fire from the hardwood going up against them.

Back to the 28-0 showing, it’s tied for the second-longest run in the last 20 years. The New York Knicks went on a 28-0 run against the Toronto Raptors back in 2017. The longest run in the past two decades came when the Cleveland Cavaliers poured in 29 unanswered points against the Milwaukee Bucks back in 2009.

In Tuesday’s victory, sharpshooter Luka Doncic reminded NBA fans why he’s one of the best in the game, as he scored 39 points. Meanwhile, for the Warriors, Stephen Curry and Mychal Mulder each had big nights, scoring 27 points and 26 points, respectively. However, it wasn’t even close to being enough to help the Warriors come away with a win.

After Tuesday’s final whistle, Dallas is now 34-27 on the year and Golden State is 31-31. Time and time again, we’re reminded of just how much the Warriors miss injured superstar Klay Thompson.
