Falcons make NFL Draft history with selection of Kyle Pitts at No. 4 overall
The Atlanta Falcons just majorly improved their offense, as they selected star Florida tight end Kyle Pitts with the No. 4 overall pick.
Atlanta Falcons fans everywhere are fired up right now and for good reason. That’s because the organization has landed their guy, as superstar Florida tight end Kyle Pitts was just picked by the team with the No. 4 pick in the NFL Draft.
Believe it or not, this selection actually made some NFL history. With Pitts going No. 4, he’s the highest pick for a tight end ever. It seems hard to believe, but no tight end has ever gone as high as No. 4 before.
Kyle Pitts is the highest drafted tight end in NFL history
Checking in at 6-foot-6, 245 pounds, Pitts has the ideal size for a tight end at the next level. He’ll be ready to rock the second he arrives to Atlanta, with the hopes of making a big difference in his first year with the organization.
You know quarterback Matt Ryan is probably smiling for ear to ear right now, as he’s been gifted quite the weapon for his offense. Seriously, Pitts not only has tremendous size, but he’s known for his soft hands and great strength in breaking tackles.
He’ll no question help open up the field for Julio Jones and the other Falcons receivers starting in 2021. Last season for Florida, the new Atlanta tight end hauled in 43 balls for 770 yards and 12 touchdowns in eight games of action.
Looking ahead to next season, the rookie will have some monster expectations for Atlanta, with the team hoping to get back on track and make the postseason. When Pitts does hit the field, he’ll have the confidence knowing he’s the highest drafted tight end the world has ever seen.
