Falcons’ Arthur Smith addresses Julio Jones wearing Cowboys hoodie (Video)

Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith had to answer the awkward question about what he thought about seeing his star wide receiver Julio Jones wearing a Dallas Cowboys hoodie.
In the wake of all the Julio Jones drama, Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith had to respond to what he thought about his best player wearing a Dallas Cowboys hoodie.
Smith said he didn’t see it because he is not on social media. While that is fine for him to respond to Zach Klein of WSB-TV’s hard-hitting question like that, the whole exchange was just incredibly awkward. Klein followed up by saying if it would be a big deal to see Matt Ryan wearing a New Orleans Saints jersey (what a terrible visual that is). Smith said a guy can do whatever we wants.
He then clapped back at Klein a bit saying what if he had a New England Patriots jersey in his Zoom setup instead of all Atlanta and Georgia gear. Given that Klein works for Atlanta’s ABC local news affiliate, his Zoom setup would only have Atlanta and Georgia university jerseys in it anyway, regardless of what teams he supports or not privately. This. NFC. South. Franchise. People. Ugh…
Smith did not ask for any of this, but this is what he signed up for by joining the Falcons in 2021.
Atlanta Falcons: Arthur Smith responds to Julio Jones offseason drama
The goods news for Dirty Bird Nation is it is probably not going to get worse than this. Then again, it probably will because that’s just how it goes in The ATL. This is the franchise that let Deion Sanders walk, saw Eugene Robinson ruin their first-ever trip to the Super Bowl, saw Michael Vick go prison for dogfighting, Bobby Petrino leave in the middle of the night for Arkansas and … 28-3.
All Atlanta sports pain aside, Jones had mentioned to the organization privately months ago that he wanted to be traded this offseason. General manager Terry Fontenot has honored his request and has fielded calls on Jones throughout. When Jones is traded, the only non-NFC South team he can’t go to is Dallas because Dan Quinn does not deserve to coach Jones for even one more snap.
At this point, the sooner the Falcons trade Jones the better because the team can finally move on.
