Kevin Garnett calls out Kyrie Irving for stomping on Celtics’ logo
By John Buhler
Kevin Garnett had some things to say about Kyrie Irving disrespecting the Boston Celtics’ logo.
With Kyrie Irving’s Brooklyn Nets taking a commanding 3-1 series lead in their best-of-seven series vs. the Boston Celtics, Kevin Garnett was not cool with Irving stomping on their former team’s mid-court logo.
Yes, Irving got a water bottle tossed at him in the aftermath of Game 4, but his new team is on the brink of advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals to take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. Even if Garnett is a former Net himself, he took to social media on Memorial Day to voice his frustrations over the blatant disrespect Irving has for the Celtics these days.
Do not expect Irving to apologize here, as he is not coming back to TD Garden until next season.
Kevin Garnett rips Kyrie Irving for disrespecting the Boston Celtics’ logo
While we all know that Irving’s brief tenure with the Celtics ended acrimoniously, it does not really matter that he disrespected the Celtics’ logo. His team will advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, as the Nets are already up 3-1 in the best-of-seven series. Boston has been the inferior team all series and the Celtics will have bigger fish to fry this offseason, like their roster.
As far as Irving and the Nets go, they have championship aspirations, but remain largely unproven this postseason. Yes, wiping the floor with the Atlantic Division rival Celtics most nights is all fun and good, but the Bucks will be a worthy adversary in the next round. There are no guarantees Irving and the Nets advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, as Milwaukee could win it all, too.
Garnett may be mad about Irving disrespecting the Celtics logo, but is a logo. not a human being.
