Some called out Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James for arguing about not getting a foul call in the second quarter of Game 6 against the Phoenix Suns.
The Los Angeles Lakers entered Thursday night facing elimination at the hands of the Phoenix Suns. Things did not get off to the greatest starts, especially when Anthony Davis checked himself out of the game in the first quarter as he tried to play through a strained groin. That meant LeBron James had to give a Herculean performance to keep the Lakers alive.
But some called out James for lack of effort on a play in the second quarter.
With the Lakers down 40-18, James drove into the paint and attempted a layup with three Suns players surrounding him. After missing the shot, James was seen arguing with the official, looking for a foul. The Suns gained possession, and easily scored on a Frank Kaminsky layup to further extend their lead. That got people talking on Twitter about the play and the Lakers potentially facing an early vacation.

On that sequence, the Suns got the rebound and had an easy fast break score to extend their lead to 42-18.
While that looked bad, the Lakers did show some life in the closing minutes of the first half, pulling within 62-41 at intermission. James scored 14 points (four-for-nine from field, four-for-six on free throws), grabbed four rebounds, dished out two assists and recorded two steals in 21 minutes of playing time. Guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 11 points while shooting four-for-seven from the field.
Meanwhile, the Lakers had no answers for Suns guard Devin Booker, who scored 33 points in the first half, with 21 points coming on seven shots from behind the arc.
