We all owe Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce a massive, massive apology. No one would have guessed it, but everyone has been mispronouncing his name for years. This week, Kelce revealed that the his name is actually pronounced āKelssā and not āKel-see.ā Who knew?
Even Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill had no idea. As you might have been able to guess, folks are losing it on Twitter, as their minds are actually blown in this case.

Why in the world did Kelce wait so long to say something? In the video above, he said that he kind of just rolled with the punches. With that said, he surely could have spoken up prior to Thursday. Now, it almost feels weird not calling him āKel-See.ā Again, people canāt believe this.
This takes put some respect on his name to a whole new level. Moving forward, Chiefs players, coaches and the teamās broadcast team will have to make the necessary adjustments. For Kelce, heās getting ready to begin the 2021 season and heāll no doubt have monster expectations.
Heās without question one of the best tight ends in the game. Last season, the 6-foot-5, 260-pounder posted a mind-blowing 105 receptions for 1,416 yards and 11 touchdowns. Heās a machine for Kansas City and one of Mahomesā favorite targets.
The two will look to keep the magic going in ā21 and try to get back to the Super Bowl for the third consecutive season. After each big play, though, letās hope folks get his name right moving forward.
