Chelsea bid for Erling Haaland rejected by Borussia Dortmund
With Chelsea FC and Thomas Tuchel eyeing a move for Erling Haaland, Dortmund has wasted no time in rejecting the club’s first offer.
With Jadon Sancho leaving Borussia Dortmund his summer transfer window, all eyes are now on Erling Haaland. The sensational striker is wanted by just about every big club out there across Europe.
Chelsea FC, fresh off a Champions League win in 2021, is hoping to bring the Norwegian for this upcoming English Premier League season. Well, the first bid from England has arrived for Dortmund, with the German side not hesitating in turning it down.
Chelsea will need to step things up financially if they want Erling Haaland
While the Blues were either ready to send Tammy Abraham or Callum Hudson-Odoi as part of the deal for Haaland, Dortmund isn’t ready to part ways with the 20-year-old phenom just yet. This makes sense, as Dortmund has already seen Sancho make his way to Manchester United.
If the club were to see both Sancho and Haaland pack their bags and leave town during the same window, it would be a massive blow for their hopes of being highly competitive in the Bundesliga next year.
That’s of course not Chelsea’s worry, though. The Premier League side wants Haaland and they want him bad. It’s easy to understand why, as he’s looked at as one of the best young talents on the planet.
As hyped up as fans were for the Champions League glory, Chelsea also wants to make some moves so they can compete for an English Premier League title in the near future. With Manchester City winning three of the last four titles, the Blues are hoping to bring the title back to London. Adding Haaland would surely make a big difference in trying to make that happen.
