Rajon Rondo will be making his return to the Los Angeles Lakers…reaffirming that LeBron James is definitely building a super-team.

This shouldn’t be to anyone’s surprise at this point, but the Los Angeles Lakers are definitely building up a west coast version of the Avengers. Since the end of their season, partnered with Space Jam dropping, LeBron and Rob Pelinka have been working like the rent was due.

They’ve been able to acquire Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard and Russell Westbrook just to name a few. But it doesn’t stop there, they worked out Isaiah Thomas and a few other players. If you’re anyone other than the Brooklyn Nets… you’d probably have a little bit of concern for what they’ve been plotting on over in L.A.

But this next addition definitely solidifies that LeBron wants to have the best team out there.

Lakers close to acquiring Rajon Rondo after buyout from Memphis

As of now, the Lakers are one more player away from having a super-duper team. Shams Charania reported that Rajon Rondo agreed to a buyout with the Grizzlies, resulting in his free agency. The Lakers, being the Lakers, were quick to snatch him up and add him to their roster for the 2021-22 season.

If this isn’t a “Run it Back” moment, we don’t know what is. The Lakers and Rondo have history, as they were able to acquire a ring in the whirlwind that was the 2020 Bubble Season. At this point, we have to call it what it is: it’s a super team.

They’re getting the band back together.

While it’s smart for the Lakers to assemble the best team imaginable, it also eliminates any and all excuses LeBron and fans of his may have next season. We don’t wanna hear it. Just win.
