The Atlanta Braves get fantastic news with regards to the latest Ozzie Albies injury update.

Despite dropping their second game on their current West Coast road trip to the Los Angeles DodgersAtlanta Braves fans are over the moon regarding the latest Ozzie Albies injury update.

Atlanta’s All-Star second baseman fouled a ball off his left knee and had to be carried off the Dodger Stadium infield. To add insult to injury, many delightful Angelenos thought bringing out the wave was a brilliant idea. All the while, Braves Country thought it suffered yet another devastating blow to their roster that already lost Ronald Acuña Jr. and Mike Soroka for the season.

Fortunately, the x-rays on Albies’ knee came back negative and he appears to be only day-to-day.

Ozzie Albies injury update: Atlanta Braves can exhale a sigh of relief for now

Atlanta’s first half of the season was marred by injuries. Not only did Acuña tear his ACL right before the All-Star game, Soroka felt his Achilles pop right before he was to make his Atlanta return. Factor in losing Travis d’Arnaud to a busted thumb and Huascar Ynoa to a busted hand for a combined six months, and that would sink any contending team. And then there is Marcell Ozuna…

Even if they lost Tuesday night’s road game to the Dodgers 3-2 thanks to the bullpen, all Braves Country cares about is Albies is not lost for the campaign. They know the Braves are going to need him if they want to win the NL East for the fourth year in a row, get back to the NLCS and punch their first ticket to the World Series since Albies was a toddler living down in Willemstad, Curaçao.

There is a good chance Albies may not even have to go on the 10-day IL after this knee injury.
