When was the last time Jermichael Finley said something nice about Aaron Rodgers? If your answer is never, you’d be correct.

Finely has a vendetta for Rodgers, that much has been true for 2012. The tight end ended his six-year career in Green Bay and never saw another NFL snap.

Wonder if there’s a reason for that?

Finley won a Super Bowl with Rodgers, so clearly there must be some gratitude — that is, unless Finley is of the mindset that he was responsible for the 9 touchdowns No. 12 threw in the 2010 postseason.

In the 2012 season, Finley went on the record saying he had no chemistry with the Packers quarterback. Those complaints continued into the regular season. His agent even suggest that Rodgers was not a good leader, despite the team winning a Super Bowl just a few seasons prior.

Packers: Jermichael Finley’s opinion on Aaron Rodgers can’t be trusted

Finley has been in the news yet again this week for criticizing Rodgers after the Packers’ blowout loss at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. Yawn.

“It’s the National Football League. Each offseason, you have to work like it’s your last season. I just don’t see a work ethic in Aaron Rodgers that I have in previous years,” Finley said. “You can see it right through his helmet. The eyes and the face tell everything about the personality. I just don’t see that hunger to go win another championship. I just think it’s cliche and talk that guys get up there and say, ‘Oh, I want to win a championship.’ It sounds good, but I want to see what you do on the field.”

What else is new?

This is what Finley does. He waits for Rodgers to screw up, only so he can become relevant again. The man played six years of professional football, and retired what seems like a decade ago.

It’s time to talk about something else. Really, anything else. His opinion on this issue is no longer valid, and cannot be trusted. It never could.

I’m not saying Rodgers is perfect, but let’s wait until beyond Week 1 before completely jumping off the bandwagon. The man won an MVP just a few months ago for a reason.
