Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was offered an NFL contract from two teams during the 2011 NBA lockout.

LeBron James, otherwise known as one of the top tight ends in the NFL. Oh, what could’ve been. After growing up a Dallas Cowboys fan, James was offered an NFL contract not only from Jerry Jones, but also the Seattle Seahawks.

If LeBron would’ve made the switch to the NFL, basketball fans would’ve missed out on seeing him win four NBA titles. The iconic 3-1 comeback in 2016 never would’ve happened.

It’s no joke, James was offered two NFL contracts in 2011.

The Cowboys offering LeBron a contract is one thing, but the Seahawks, too? Imagine what James would’ve looked like in an offense led by QB Russell Wilson after he was drafted in 2012.

It would’ve been epic to see LeBron pull a Michael Jordan and make the switch to the NFL, but it’s something that will only fall under the ‘what ifs’ category.

Imagine being a teenager and pulling up to St. Vincent-St. Mary High School on a Friday night, getting off of the activity bus and catching a glimpse of LeBron James. I would’ve backed up and gotten right back on the bus.

James made his way to the West Coast, after all. He didn’t need to play for the Seahawks to make it there. In the summer of 2018, he announced that he was signing with the Lakers.

LeBron said that he gave the offers serious thought after not playing in an NBA game from July to December during 2011, but he made the decision to stay with the Miami Heat.

NFL defenses are thanking you, King James.
